Source: the SIGNL4 pricing page, October 2026. Prices are in USD for the Americas and in euros for Europe, and paid plans are sold only to businesses and public institutions. The pricing page does not say whether the 9 USD Notify & Connect price is annual or monthly, and directories such as G2 and OMR show slightly different figures, so get the number in your quote in writing. New accounts get 30 days of Maximize for 10 users without a card, then fall back to Starter.
SIGNL4 add-ons and usage charges
| Item | Price | Available on |
|---|---|---|
| Active Stakeholder Communication | 3 USD per stakeholder a month, or 30 USD a year | Notify & Connect, Optimize, Maximize |
| Dedicated phone number for inbound calls | 10 USD a month, or 110 USD a year | Maximize only |
| SMS on the free Starter plan | 15 cents per text | Starter |
| Voice calls on the free Starter plan | 35 cents per call | Starter |
The stakeholder add-on is the one that surprises teams. Support leads, account managers and executives who only need to follow an alert are billed per head, so a company that wants 30 people kept in the loop adds 90 USD a month on top of the responder seats.
What does SIGNL4 cost for 5, 15 and 40 users?
Monthly cost at annual list prices with every user on call. The Optimize rows are the realistic floor for a scheduled rotation.
| Setup | 5 users | 15 users | 40 users |
|---|---|---|---|
| SIGNL4 Notify & Connect, no scheduling or escalation | 45 USD | 135 USD | 360 USD |
| SIGNL4 Optimize, annual | 75 USD | 225 USD | 600 USD |
| SIGNL4 Optimize, monthly billing | 95 USD | 285 USD | 760 USD |
| SIGNL4 Optimize plus 10 stakeholders | 105 USD | 255 USD | 630 USD |
| SIGNL4 Maximize plus an inbound number | 135 USD | 385 USD | 1,010 USD |
| PagerDuty Professional | 105 USD | 315 USD | 840 USD |
| OnPage Gold plus SMS | 169.95 USD | 509.85 USD | 1,359.60 USD |
| IncidentBot Starter (1 public status page) | 120 USD | 360 USD | 960 USD |
| IncidentBot Team (3 status pages, incident roles, Jira sync) | 245 USD | 735 USD | 1,960 USD |
Read it honestly. For paging alone, SIGNL4 Optimize is the cheapest of these at every team size: 225 USD for 15 people against 315 USD for PagerDuty Professional and 360 USD for IncidentBot Starter. OnPage numbers come from our OnPage pricing breakdown, where its scheduler needs the Gold plan.
Where the SIGNL4 bill grows
- Scheduling. A team that starts on Notify & Connect and then wants rotations or escalation moves every seat from 9 to 15 USD.
- Stakeholders. Every person who follows alerts without acting on them is 3 USD a month. With 25 stakeholders on a 15 person team, Optimize goes from 225 to 300 USD.
- Call routing. Customers or field staff who need to phone one number and reach whoever is on duty push you to Maximize plus the 10 USD number.
- Monthly billing. Paying month to month adds 4 USD per user on Optimize and Maximize, which is 60 USD a month for 15 users.
Is SIGNL4 worth it, or do you need more than alerting?
SIGNL4 is good at what it was built for: getting an alert to a person's phone and making sure somebody acknowledges it. Field service, facilities, manufacturing and IT operations teams use it for exactly that, and Optimize gives them heartbeat and website monitors in the same seat. If your incidents end when someone acknowledges the alert and fixes the machine, SIGNL4 is hard to beat on price.
Software and SaaS teams usually need what happens after the acknowledgement. Somebody has to open a Slack channel, assign an incident commander, tell customers on a status page and write the postmortem. SIGNL4 does not run that part, so those teams end up paying for a status page tool and an incident workflow tool on top of it.
| What you need | SIGNL4 | IncidentBot |
|---|---|---|
| Mobile push, SMS and voice paging | Yes, from Notify & Connect | Yes, from Starter |
| Schedules and automatic escalation | Optimize, 15 USD | Starter, 24 USD (3 schedules), unlimited on Team |
| Heartbeat and website monitors | Yes, on Optimize | No, takes alerts from your monitoring |
| Live call routing and inbound number | Maximize plus 10 USD | No |
| Slack incident channel with /incident | ChatOps alerts in Slack | Yes, channel, roles and timeline |
| Customer status page with subscribers | No, a who is on call dashboard only | Yes, public on Starter, with subscribers on Team |
| Postmortems and Jira action items | No | Yes, Jira Cloud and Linear on Team |
| People who only read | 3 USD per stakeholder | Free on every plan |
IncidentBot does not check your sites itself. If SIGNL4's website monitors are the reason you bought it, pair IncidentBot with a dedicated uptime monitoring service that checks sites, APIs and ports every 30 seconds and sends its alerts in by webhook or email. Teams that run after-hours support for clients can compare a full setup on our on-call software for MSPs page, and teams coming from PagerDuty can see how schedules carry over on the PagerDuty alternative page.
The math tilts toward IncidentBot when readers outnumber responders. A 15 person rotation with 40 people in support, success and leadership pays 225 plus 120 USD for SIGNL4 Optimize with stakeholders, which is 345 USD before a status page tool, against 360 USD for IncidentBot Starter with a public status page and every reader free.
What to ask SIGNL4 before you sign
- Is the 9 USD Notify & Connect price annual or monthly, and what will my renewal be?
- Which of our users need Optimize for scheduling, and can some stay on a lower plan?
- How many stakeholders will we need, and is there a volume price on the 3 USD add-on?
- Are SMS and voice calls unlimited on paid plans for US numbers, or is there a fair use cap?
- Do we need live call routing, which means Maximize and a 10 USD number?
- Which plan keeps the data our audits need (6 months on Optimize, up to 12 on Maximize)?
- How do downgrades work mid-term? SIGNL4 says cancellations and downgrades take effect at the start of the next term.
Bring the same list to every vendor you compare, and add the cost of a status page and an incident workflow tool if SIGNL4 is not covering them. Our pricing page lists every IncidentBot plan with what each one includes.
How much does SIGNL4 cost?
SIGNL4 costs 9 USD per user a month on Notify & Connect, 15 USD on Optimize and 25 USD on Maximize when billed annually, or 19 and 29 USD on monthly billing, according to signl4.com in October 2026. A free Starter plan covers up to 5 users, and stakeholders cost 3 USD each.
Does SIGNL4 have a free plan?
Yes. The Starter plan is free for up to 5 users with push alerts, ad-hoc duty, Slack and Teams, and one month of data. SMS is 15 cents per text and voice 35 cents per call on Starter. There is no shift scheduling or automatic escalation on it, so most teams with a real rotation pay for Optimize.
Which SIGNL4 plan includes on-call scheduling?
Optimize. SIGNL4 lists duty and shift scheduling, automated escalations and post-shift reports from Optimize upward, at 15 USD per user a month billed annually or 19 USD monthly. The free plan and Notify & Connect only offer ad-hoc duty, where people check in and out by hand.
How much does SIGNL4 charge for SMS and voice calls?
On paid plans SMS and voice alerts are part of the seat from Notify & Connect upward, and directories describe communication costs as included. On the free Starter plan SIGNL4 charges 15 cents per text and 35 cents per voice call. An inbound number for callers is a separate 10 USD a month on Maximize.
Is SIGNL4 cheaper than PagerDuty?
Yes, for paging. SIGNL4 Optimize at 15 USD per user a month billed annually costs less than PagerDuty Professional at 21 USD, and it includes schedules and escalation. For 15 users that is 225 USD against 315 USD a month. PagerDuty adds more incident workflow features, so compare what you actually use.
What is a good alternative to SIGNL4 for engineering teams?
For software teams that run incidents in Slack, IncidentBot covers paging, schedules, escalation, the incident channel, a customer status page and postmortems from 24 USD per seat a month billed annually, with readers free. PagerDuty Professional at 21 USD is the other common choice if you only need paging.
