PagerTree pricing and PagerTree cost for on-call teams of 5, 15 and 40

PagerTree has four plans: Basic is free for up to 5 users, Pro costs 15 USD per user a month (150 USD a year), Elite costs 19 USD per user a month (190 USD a year) and Enterprise is quoted. Yearly billing gives two months free, which works out to about 12.50 USD on Pro and 15.83 USD on Elite. Every paid plan has a 14 day trial with no card. Prices were checked on pagertree.com in October 2026.

Two numbers decide the real bill. Pro stops at 25 users, so a growing team lands on Elite, and stakeholder notifications, live call routing and SSO are Elite features too. This page shows what each plan includes, why pricing trackers still quote 10 USD, and what PagerTree costs for teams of 5, 15 and 40 next to PagerDuty, Spike, SIGNL4 and IncidentBot.

Source: the PagerTree pricing page and its plan comparison table, October 2026. PagerTree charges for every user on its Users page, prorated when people join or leave mid-cycle, and there is no minimum seat count. SMS and voice have no preset cap, but PagerTree reserves the right to charge overage for abnormal usage, and international messages are the usual trigger.

Why trackers show a 10 USD PagerTree price

Search for PagerTree pricing and the first results are pricing trackers listing Pro at 10 USD per user, or 8.33 USD billed yearly, with three or two tiers depending on the site. That was an earlier price list. PagerTree's own page now shows Pro at 15 USD and Elite at 19 USD, so budget from the vendor page, not from a cached directory entry.

Is PagerTree Basic enough for an on-call team?

Basic is generous for a side project and thin for a production rotation. It has on-call schedules and escalation layers, but no SMS, voice or WhatsApp, so a page at 3 a.m. depends on a push notification getting through. Recurring schedules, routers and notification rules, reports and calendar sync all start on Pro. Data is kept for 3 months, which is short if you report on incidents per quarter.

A team that is serious about waking someone up moves to Pro on day one. That is the realistic entry price: 15 USD per user a month, or 12.50 USD on a yearly plan.

What does PagerTree cost for 5, 15 and 40 users?

Monthly cost at list prices with every user on call. PagerTree rows use the yearly price divided by 12, the others are annual list prices unless noted. Pro is not available for 40 users because of its 25 user cap.

IncidentBot Starter (1 public status page)120 USD360 USD960 USD
IncidentBot Team (3 status pages, incident roles, Jira sync)245 USD735 USD1,960 USD

Read it honestly. On price per seat, PagerTree Pro is one of the cheapest paid pagers on the market, and Elite at 40 users still costs less than PagerDuty Professional. If your team needs alerts, schedules, escalation and SMS or voice and nothing else, PagerTree is a sensible buy, and Elite adds phone support.

Where the PagerTree bill grows

  • The 25 user cap. Hiring the 26th engineer moves every seat from Pro to Elite, a 27 percent jump on the whole bill.
  • Stakeholders. Stakeholder notifications are an Elite feature, so keeping support or leadership informed through PagerTree raises the per-seat price for the whole team.
  • Everyone on the Users page is billed. People who only need to see what is happening still count as users.
  • SSO. A security review that requires single sign-on puts you on Elite.
  • No status page on the pricing page. Telling customers about an outage needs a separate tool and a separate bill.
  • International SMS and voice. There is no preset cap, but unusual volume can bring overage charges.

Is PagerTree enough, or do you need incident workflow too?

PagerTree does the paging part well and cheaply. Where teams look further is everything after the alert: who leads the incident, who tells customers, where the timeline lives and who writes the postmortem. That is the gap IncidentBot fills, at a higher seat price.

Push, SMS and voice pagingPush on Basic, SMS, voice and WhatsApp on ProStarter (100 SMS and voice per user a month) or Team (unlimited, fair use)

People who only follow incidentsBilled as users, stakeholder notifications on EliteFree read-only viewers on every plan

PagerTree wins on price for pure paging and on live call routing and WhatsApp, which IncidentBot does not offer. IncidentBot is the better buy when an outage involves more people than the rotation. A 15 person on-call team with 30 support and success staff following along pays for 15 seats here, and the Slack channel, status update and postmortem come with them. Teams that hand the pager between regions can see how that works on our follow the sun on call rotation page.

Alert email has its own failure mode. If pages or notification emails start landing in spam, check your sending domain with email blacklist monitoring before you blame the paging tool.

What to ask PagerTree before you sign

  • What will the bill be when we pass 25 users and move from Pro to Elite?
  • Do read-only users who never get paged count as billed users?
  • Which plan do we need to notify stakeholders without giving them a full seat?
  • What counts as abnormal SMS and voice usage, and what are the overage rates for international numbers?
  • Is SSO available on Pro at any price, or only on Elite?
  • How long do we keep incident data, and can we export it before it ages out?

Put the same questions to every vendor on your shortlist and add the cost of anything they do not cover, such as a status page. If you are also replacing Opsgenie, the Opsgenie alternative page covers the import, and our pricing page lists every IncidentBot plan.

How much does PagerTree cost?

PagerTree costs 15 USD per user a month on Pro and 19 USD on Elite, or 150 and 190 USD per user a year, according to pagertree.com in October 2026. Basic is free for up to 5 users and Enterprise is quoted. Every plan has a 14 day trial with no credit card.

Does PagerTree have a free plan?

Yes. Basic is free for up to 5 users and 2 teams, with on-call schedules, escalation layers and push, email and Slack notifications. It does not include SMS, voice or WhatsApp, recurring schedules or reports, and it keeps 3 months of data, so most production teams start on Pro.

Is PagerTree cheaper than PagerDuty?

Yes. PagerTree Pro at 15 USD per user a month, or 12.50 USD billed yearly, costs less than PagerDuty Professional at 21 USD billed annually. For 15 users that is 187.50 USD against 315 USD a month. Elite at 19 USD is still cheaper at every team size.

What is the user limit on PagerTree Pro?

Pro covers up to 25 users. Above that every user moves to Elite at 19 USD a month or 190 USD a year. Basic stops at 5 users and 2 teams, while Elite and Enterprise have no user limit.

Does PagerTree charge for SMS and voice?

SMS, voice and WhatsApp are included from Pro with no preset limit. PagerTree's pricing page says it may charge overage fees for abnormal or unreasonable usage, and international notifications are the main cost risk, so ask for the notification limits in writing.

What is a good PagerTree alternative for engineering teams?

For teams that run incidents in Slack and must keep customers informed, IncidentBot covers paging, schedules, escalation, the incident channel, a status page and postmortems from 24 USD per seat billed annually, with read-only viewers free. For paging alone, Spike Business and SIGNL4 Optimize are priced close to PagerTree.
